Natas "Cuidad de Brahman"

(Man´s ruin Records)

I bought my first Natas record in 1998 after I heard the on the"welcome to Meteorcity"-comp. The main reason was because that I

was sold on "The Kyuss sound" at the time. But now a few years later when I listen to "Delmar" and "welcome to meteorcity" Inoticed that Natas

had a sound of their own allready then. On "Cuidad" there are a lot of jamming, spaced-out moments and I think that that is what Natas

does best, and they do it really well, but when the vocals enter the building they seems to lose that feeling that´s been building up until then. It may

be so that Natas need to get a vocalist that does nothing but just the vocals since I can imagine that it´s hard to play an istrument and sing at the same

time, I don´t know but it sounds logical to me as a non-musican. Then we have this language thing, I have nothing against spanish, not at all it´s just

that I don´t understand it, except for words like, Puta, cervesa and porros. But i think it suites Natas music, and I noticed that there is not a lot of vocals

on a Natas album, and as long as they don´t get another vocalist I think that they should keep it that way. So my final opinion on this album is that

the jamming non-vocal parts a brilliant and the parts with vocal is not so good as they could be. Don´t misunderstand me now because I like this album

and Natas is still one of the bands that I´ll keep buying records from.
